Shehan Ratnavale
Business Immigration | Asia - Africa Lead
Shehan is a senior member of our Business Immigration team. He was a former Sri Lankan High Commissioner to the Republic of Singapore (2005-8) concurrently accredited to the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam, and subsequently to the Republic of South Africa (2011-14) concurrently accredited to Seychelles, Mauritius, Madagascar, Mozambique, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
In addition to his diplomatic appointments, he has been involved in banking, business promotion and project development with companies with an international focus. He has also been involved in national development work under the purview of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Sri Lanka and as a Consultant and Focal point for UNESCO in Sri Lanka (2010-11). He gained his LLB (Hons) degree from Leicester University UK in 1985 and holds Post Graduate Diplomas in Business and Financial Administration from the Business School of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (1995) and in Bank Management from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (2001). Shehan adds great value to the firm’s Business Immigration casework team with his experience and understanding of business. Shehan also supports the firm’s management as well as its international outlook and reach in Asia and Africa in particular.
